2009 First Responder - First Receiver Training Schedule

The courses listed in the table below are open to all members of the First Responder - First Receiver Communities unless otherwise noted. The First Responder - First Receiver Communities consist of Fire Service, EMS, Law Enforcement, Hospital, Public Health, American Red Cross, Medical Reserve Corps and CERT.

ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff - Complex Incidents

 Prerequisites: ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-700 & ICS-800. The courses must be completed no less than 6 months before taking the ICS-400 course.

In addition to these course the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) requires that ALL STUDENTS complete the on-line course pretest on the VDEM web site BEFORE they can take the classroom course.

Important!  Each student must register with their own separate e-mail address. The VDEM system will not accept students registered with any shared e-mail address!

ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents

Prerequisites: ICS-100, ICS-200, & ICS 700 The courses must be completed no less than 6 months before taking the ICS-300 course.

In addition to these course the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) requires that ALL STUDENTS complete the on-line course Pretest and Unit 2 Overview on the VDEM web site BEFORE they can take the classroom course.

Important!  Each student must register with their own separate e-mail address. The VDEM system will not accept students registered with any shared e-mail address!

Mass Casualty Incident Management
Module 1 & 2 Train-the-Trainer (Instructor) Course

Prerequisites: Must be certified as EMT-B or higher; must have completed MCIM Module I and II prior to start of class.  Must hold teaching certification in another topic (i.e. CPR, EMT Firefighter I, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, ADLS, etc.
